Notre Dame had 48 PPG against the SEC. Bama never scored over 40 points over any SEC opponents. Their SEC PPG was 24.67!!! Basically half of ND’s PPG against the SEC.

Every team who has lost their CCG and also made the CFP has dropped at least one spot. Last year, Georgia, Texas, SMU all lost and dropped in ranking. This year, Ohio State dropped one spot. Each of the teams lost by one score.
The only exception EVER? 2025 Alabama. Who lost by 21. With -3 rush yds

So, BYU was penalized for getting blown out in its conference championship game (dropped one spot). Which allowed Miami to move up and get compared directly to Notre Dame.
