Reset of PR but the basic policies have not really changed since the campaign. And the job of actually governing is better than has been in years so that technocratic label kinda holds.
Stop beclowning yourself. This was a stupid take then and it is a stupid take now.
You make it sound like NYT were forced to published this and it wasn’t a choice
Doesn’t have to affect the poorest if coupled with targeted benefits to top up their income. Which would be much better than giving all pensioners the same increases regardless of their wealth level.
Pensioners are not the weakest members of society by any measure
They do, for everyone else but not themselves.
Can’t wait for his humiliating defeat. I hope he crawls back to the hole he came from and never coms out again.
So here's Andrew Cuomo reacting to Maria Bartiromo wondering if Mamdani will "change the look of New York" and have Muslim women "completely covered up," telling her that Mamdani "doesn't understand New York culture" because he has "dual citizenship" and "he's a citizen of Uganda."

Ah yes, the years 1997-2010, definitely a period the former chairman of Northern Rock should be casting a stone at the public sector over

1980:
NHS spending as a % of GDP: 5.1%
Defence spending as a % of GDP: 5%

2024:
NHS spending as a % of GDP: 10.9%
Defence spending as a % of GDP: 2.2%

This is such a common applause line, but it’s also total bullshit.
There is always money for war, never for the poor.

Every penny spent on bombs, tanks and missiles is stolen from our homes, schools and hospitals.

We are not going to take it anymore.
I don't like them but the far right's votes are as legitimate as anyone else's. They got there through the same elections as everyone else.
"Hackney's right wing council" 🤡
But you’re not in a position to scrutinise. You’re complaining about not enough change happening without knowing what changes are happening. This is such a vague complaint as to be meaningless, it’s not scrutiny.
What are you talking about, those are elected leaders. Did you expect to be in the room yourself? What’s the point of having elections if you’ll then complain about elected people taking decisions?
Nah, Sanders has actually managed to pass some of his legislation. Corbyn has not a single bill passed despite being a legislator for 42 years to Sander's 34.
No changes to the draft agreement, but there are changes being agreed to. Some of them significant.
A mid level public sector worker likely earns significantly more than the majority of people in this country.
To acknowledge that the problem exists and to offer solutions for it. I’m an immigrant, of course I support immigration. But infrastructure needs to keep up with it. Some control of immigration does need to exist. How should integration look like?

It’s not enough to say immigration is good, done.
No, don’t make the same mistake as Corbyn did. While media definitely inflated the topic, it’s not just the media pushing it. The media and your political opponents aren’t just going to drop it because you don’t like it. The Green Party might add to the talking points but won’t dictate the agenda.
In all fairness, you not caring about the borders doesn’t change that immigration tops all polls as the defining topic that people care about. I don’t like it either but that doesn’t mean you can ignore it.
Polanski is the text book definition of populism. He himself acknowledges that and literally ran his leadership campaign on it. What are you talking about?
I think it is. It potentially shows a pattern of impulsive decision making. Regardless of what the decisions were about. If he genuinely covered his totenkopf with Fenrir, it tells me he didn't understand what the problem was in the first place.
It does highlight bad decision making, regardless of how stupid the topic is.
And choosing Fenrir, also associated with white supremacy, to replace his totenkopf is also an unfortunate choice.
I'd love it for them to explain what "culturally coherent" means.
