I have a lot of reading and research to do before I can really understand how to write Book 3 fully:
1: History and culture of New Orleans.
2: Les Misérables
Am I going over-board for a fan-fiction? I don't think so, not if it is to be my best effort.
This should be fun!

Okay, working on book 3 is going far more differently than books 1 and 2.
3 is proving to be trickier to write as it draws together a lot of hanging threads. I find myself writing key scenes from disparate points in the book rather than a front-to-back process. Interesting.

Ahh, the re-write is done. I'd gotten to the point where the scene had felt just 'bad'. I decided to pretty much throw it out and start again, keeping the key beats, but giving it a major overhaul. I'm much happier now with the result.

Working on polishing the next chapter. I'm not happy with one particular scene. Facing the prospect of re-writing it from scratch. I have an extra day whilst AO3 is down to work on it, but if it's not ready... I would rather delay than post something sub-standard.

I've just spent a very illuminating afternoon reading the Oxford style guide. It seems my current writing is a somewhat hellish mix-and-match of various styles. I shall endeavor to stick to the guide in the next book.

Gearing up to publish the next chapter of Hellraiser: Unbound, book 1!
Starting with a key scene has worked really well. It's taking a while to get right, and feels more like sculpting as I expand and refine areas. The more it develops, the happier I'm getting. I think I'll do this with some more key scenes, fit them together and then work more on the flow. ✍️

It's interesting how I'm having a bit of trouble working out the exact timeline of book 3. However, I have some key events in mind, so I've resolved to start with those. It's giving me a chance to write some delicious interactions between characters, which I look forward to refining.

The last two books were written fairly linearly... I'm starting to think this one will need post-its!
