The city building genre is frankly, a mess atm. All of the mainstays (except Tropico maybe?) have been wrecked in one form or another.
All the good developments are in indies.
What I wouldn't give though for a timeline where EA didn't absolutely obliterate SimCity.

Yet again a company chooses AI over paying artists or setting reasonable timelines. Kinda bummed.
