We also have a state-wide network of amateur 'ham' radio operators from across Victoria who will relay local info via ham radio fire information to us.

Should those systems fail, we can switch over to shortwave radio and Morse code (CW) if need be.

Many CFA volunteers are also amateur radio ops

Worldwide mortality experience since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic (2020-2024) shows excess deaths over that period in almost every country measured. Australia (+6%) was below average, and New Zealand (+0.1%) the lowest we measured.
