Weekend Oz triumphantly telling us that a “core values pathway” &
“one party, two traditions” will save the dog’s breakfast aka the Liberal Party. I have no idea WTF either of these mean, or how such slogans will lead to policies relevant to Australia in the 2020s. I suspect they don’t either.

More of the same LNP sloganeering and obfuscation from Sussan Ley on Insiders this morning. Criticises the govt on “immigration” but won’t say which groups of immigrants she’d stop coming. Decries “excessive” govt spending but won’t say what she’d cut. Waste of time.

Some of Australia’s best-known and most respected industry, business and community leaders have written an open letter to state and federal MPs calling for an end to the “net zero smokescreen” to “secure Australia’s prosperity”.

I wish the commentators from the Murdoch - and indeed many other - media outlets would stop all this noise about Albo having to meet Trump. What they really mean is that they want Albo and thus Australia to grovel. The Zelensky White House ambush showed what a great idea that is.

Well it’ll surprise no-one that the election campaign has degenerated into duelling bribes and handouts from the LNP & ALP. No plan, no strategy, little thought, just buying votes. Don’t we deserve better than this?

Just watched probably the worst episode of Q and A that I’ve ever seen. The Liberal and Labor pollies just trotted out their talking points regardless of any relevance to the questions they were asked. When asked any “big picture” questions they ignored them. Pathetic.

The LNP costed Labor’s energy plan at $600 bn. On Insiders today shadow treasurer Angus Taylor said their nuclear-driven plan would be 44% less. Asked how much that was, he just repeated “44% less”. Seems he can’t even access a calculator. Doesn’t inspire much confidence in a wanna-be treasurer.
