Why wouldn't you play your favourite song on repeat until the marginal utility of one more play is less than that of the next best song? Neurotypicals are so weird!
Link is working fine now. Thanks

What Second Brain are you using? I'm just in the process of transitioning from Logseq to Obsidian.
For anyone wondering about F3, here are links to the paper and current HackerNews discussion:

HN: news.ycombinator.com/item?id=4543...

I haven't read it yet but based on the abstract and authors (incl. Wes McKinney & Andy Pavlo), I will be reading it.
Hug of death? I can't seem to access your post.
I've cancelled my @filmandseries.bsky.social subscription. "Sorry kids, but that orange 🤡 on TV is why we can't have nice things."

I'm working on a report on the causes of burnout in open source software. If you're a part of the OSS community, I would love to hear your thoughts, either here on Bluesky, or privately via email (see post). Thanks 😊

Watching the F1 Grand Prix at Monza, Italy this weekend, i was struck by how much the Parabolica resembles one half of the Circus Maximus.

Le plus ca change, le plus c'est la meme chose!
Seriously, how? There has to be some tradeoff. First I thought they're skipping POSIX semantics or strong consistency but the reliability benchmarks are better. Looking forward to see some independent reports.
Compromise is the shared hypotenuse of the conjoined triangles of success.
* Antony emphasized that it is the citizens of Rome who ultimately determine the duration they want to back any elected official, including the Dictator-for-Life.
* The proposals were approved decisively by a supermajority of 250 votes in favor and 5 against, also removing the second-consul veto to align legislative timing.
* Consul Mark Antony of Caesar's Populares faction proposed the amendments, arguing that while the title of Rex (King) was barred by tradition, the position of Dictator was not subject to term limits.
* Rome's Senate approved sweeping constitutional changes on the Ides of February, allowing for an indefinite dictatorial term and extending it to a lifetime appointment.
I'd be up for doing that some time. Unfortunately I've been swamped with #life the past few/weeks months so not a great time for me currently.

1/5. @paradedb.bsky.social has raised a $12M Series A to bring Elasticsearch workloads to Postgres. 🧵
Congratulations on the Hindley-Milner type inference extension! I hope to look at that some time.
