My fianceé and I have decided to watch all 250 DVDs we own in -- for some reason -- alphabetical order. This means we get to enjoy incredible back to back pairings like 12 Angry Men + 13 Going on Thirty, Monty Python + Moonlight, and The Truman Show + Turbo: A Power Rangers Movie.

BREAKING: Tom Hulce will return as W.A. Mozart in “AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY”
Fighting for my life about triangles in a TikTok comment section. Can the math or trigonometry folks here help me out?

I'm not crazy for saying a right triangle is possible with 90°, 80°, & 10° angles...am I? I'm being told it's impossible bc Pythagorean doesn't work but it definitely does lol
I turned 10,000 days old today.
I played drums, I went to see a movie, and I spent time with my fianceé. Feeling grateful & more able than ever to cherish each day that comes next.
See you on 10,001.

I just love that my feed here is 99.9% cats and video games because 99.9% of what I want to experience in life is cats and video games.

A number of artists and creators have made their home on Bluesky, and we hear their concerns with other platforms training on their data. We do not use any of your content to train generative AI, and have no intention of doing so.

Sobbing that I'll miss PASIC this year
Sobbing that I missed PASIC
I am too, through the ups and downs. I didn't hate it week-to-week as much as other folks did, I just think it was kind of ..nothing.. for where it leads/impact on the MCU. I guess some threads are still open but I'm just not really engaged by it (except for the "war on aliens" we may see in Cap 4)

I finally watched this video a lot of Music Twitter™️ was talking about around a month ago and while I agree with a lot of the issues mentioned, most were from the perspective of fixed pitch instrumentalists like 🎸 or 🎹. Here's my POV from 🪘🥁🪇:

Notation Must Die: The Battle For How We Read Music
Many people feel that western notation makes it unnecessarily hard to read music. If we want to sight read, learn music theory or just practice an instrument...

Sorry I'm 8 months late 🙃 what did you think overall?
All that to say, despite being regularly left out of these conversations, drummers and percussionists have their own battles to face when it comes to reading music that other instrumentalists may never consider or experience.
Not to mention works like Xenakis's Psappha or Stockhausen's Zyklus No. 9, in which notation is entirely graphic, and sound choice/range, note durations, and tempi are all interpreted by the performer, often resulting in a months-long (or longer) process of deep introspection.
Then theres solo or chamber percussion works: instrumentation differs from composition to composition, so the noteheads, lines/spaces, & additives to notestems are highly irregular. There is no "cowbell" notehead or space on the staff, because many works require no cowbell at all
