I unsubscribed from her when she spoke harshly about Beyoncé and the Tiffany campaign. Still, I never “wished her to the cornfield.” But I guess me cancelling my subscription last November didn’t help either. 🤷🏽‍♀️

I have. That’s why I commented. The APA continues to revise the DSM-5-TR. It’s never a “No” just, a not now. While racism isn’t a classified disorder, YET, they have considered Racism’s impact on PTSD. Btw, PTSD was added as a disorder in 2013 to a newly created category. Racism is in its purview.

Other psychiatrists such as the late Alvin Poussaint, also a Psychiatrist, published on the topic and agreed with her on the extreme racism issue and he cited other psychiatrists. I have access through my uni -please link your paper or doi # .

You’re not wrong. I found an academic paper from 2004 on the topic. The American Psychiatric Association members seem to discuss the topic every 20 years. Sadly, we barely provide care for people with approved mental illnesses.

Is it bad, though? Especially when people forget the message and fail to stop “the violence” when it happens in real life. Stephen King writes so we will remember when confronted with reality. Such as DHS entertaining a pitch to turn the ICE immigration roundups into a reality show. 🙄
