Old crock. Climate action vital for our Earth. Progressive UK European opposed to Brexit insanity and Trump's fascism. Human rights for all. Oligarchs are an obscenity. Respect for all living species. Centre Left. Hope not Hate. No chat unless I know you.
Sumption placed his personal freedom of the individual over the lives of his fellow citizens and equals as he looked down on them from his entitlement summit. What matter 250,000 deaths, 500,000, 1 million if it circumscribes my freedom? (The Times is paywalled)

This is what real Granny Smiths, grown in the garden in France and harvested late, look like. Not much resemblance to the supermarket variety in taste, either! Much sweeter.

UK should not accede to this EU decision. The Right and Agro Business in France, etc, has turned farmers against net zero, etc. No customers in France are confused about vege-burgers et al. It encourages dislike for vegetarians and vegans. Get a grip Labour.

The BBC is the biggest thump of soft power the UK has and its reach and influence to the benefit of the country is extraordinary. Destroy it, hugely damage the UK. The same people who helped weaken us over Brexit are seeking to do it again.
Interesting to see so many great British patriots right now begging an American president to bankrupt one of Britain’s last remaining truly national institutions.

I'm not sure if others have noticed this, but interesting that one of the Prescott criticisms of the BBC is based on those of the 'History Reclaimed' group, which is also associated with the 'Restore Trust' group's attacks on & so far unsuccessful attempts to take control of the National Trust. 1/3

For so many years the rightwing UK media, especially the Murdoch press, has gaslit us that the BBC is leftwing.

They think we are idiots and we haven’t noticed stuff like the relentless platforming of Farage.

Should Gibb be sacked? yes, obviously. He's an abomination of basic journalistic standards. His GB News channel spreads conspiracy theory & disinformation. His Jewish Chronicle newspaper spreads invented stories. He is plainly trying to undermine the BBC so it's as bad as everything else he touches.

It can’t be said often enough: BBC News and current affairs have presented unacceptable right wing bias and have platformed MAGA-funded think tanks masquerading as research units since well before the orchestrated campaign to separate us from Europe.

It's not a fact that the BBC made serious culpable errors: it's an opinion - and one I don't share.

Yes, the nature of the editing of Trump's speech was unprofessional but that's all. Even so, the substance of the edit was entirely in keeping with the rest of Trump's actions that day.

The fact that the BBC has made serious culpable errors does not negate the point that there is a real and concerted right-wing media campaign to destroy it. Both points can be true at the same time and the campaign would not end even if the errors did.
