The fact that tomorrow is Monday and the weekly routine starts all over again is deeply upsetting.

Man, I wish I had something pithy and witty to say, but I’m more of a “reaction” commenter than an “original thought” person. (At least at the moment.)

Anyway. Here’s my dog, pretending he’s a cat.

Freddie Mercury didn't go into the studio and nail the vocals for "The Show Must Go On" in one take while dying of AIDS for you to despair and give up now. Take the time you need, but then get up and get back out there.

The show must go on.

“There is another road, and that's to environmental devastation and the rise of some horrible racist right-wing power that is already feeling comfortable enough to walk down the streets regularly. You don't negotiate with that. You punch it in the mouth." – Tom Morello

"The kids and especially the grandkids have been out in the streets letting our political leaders know the future is already here, and it would be good if they embraced it rather than resist the evolving nature of what it means to be an American.” - Arlo Guthrie

My favorite part of #CaptainAmericaBraveNewWorld was when the White House got partially destroyed. 👍🏻 I was very upset about the cherry trees, though. 😔

Is 3:52am too early to start drinking?

Asking for a friend.

I can’t help but wonder
What this world could be
If we all held each other
With a bit more empathy;
What if there’s a world where
We don’t have to live this way?

Apparently #MothMonday is a thing???!!! 👀 Here, have some moths! The first one is a Definite Tussock Moth (according to Seek app), but I don’t know about the others. (I just really like moths.)

Education Trauma is one of my adult students being afraid of failing an exam simply for forgetting one of her tools in another state. 😐

Used Google Translate on the paragraph, got a poem:

“Those fleeting days that filled the air with intense heat, when life seemed like a bold act of audacity and inspiration flowed like an uncontainable stream of creativity.”

Obrigado! 🙏💜

-21: o Mundo.

Aqueles dias fugazes que enchiam o ar de um calor intenso, quando a vida parecia um lance ousado de audácia e a inspiração fluía como um jorro incontido de criatividade.

We live in a weary world that is often exhausting, defeating and terrifying. It needs to be re-enchanted again, a pilgrimage back to childhood wonders. Where we see the world as not something to be conquered but something to be delighted in.

Additional scripts for cis het white men who want to be better allies:

“What a weird thing to say”

“Do you hear yourself right now?”

“You shouldn’t say shit like that to people”

“I won’t let you talk to them that way”

“That’s a disgusting opinion to have”

“Shut the fuck up, dude”
Cis men truly need to understand the power of saying “that’s fucked up bro why would you say that” to another cis man
The responsibility for resisting and correcting this behavior shouldn’t fall solely on a specific gender. If you’re a man of conscience and you see another man mimicking Nick Fuentes, fuck him up on sight before the women even get a chance. I mean that.

I always try to encourage my adult students in this area — in massage therapy and anatomy/physiology, there are a lot of complex words and it seems like everyone says them a little differently. I say, “We don’t take points off for spelling or mispronunciation, it’s okay.”
Literacy is important but we’ve got to do a better job at removing the shame & stigma from having difficulty with reading & writing.

The most universally powerful intervention I’ve ever used is simply telling kids it’s ok to mispronounce something or to get it wrong, & that it’s ok to keep trying.

Our excitement for the morning in #NewEngland and #Maine -- 3.9 magnitude earthquake. At first I thought it was a huge truck but it didn't sound right. It did make everything rumble. This screenshot is already out of date as data is pouring in: earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/...

Saw a comment on a video that asked, “Remember when Katrina happened?”

I almost replied, “Of course they don’t — they probably weren’t even born then.”

(2005, by the way.)
