Twin Peaks, horror, books, psychotronalia. He/him.
I haven’t really posted about this event because I had kind of a bad experience (nothing to do with the cast or the show itself, and it worked itself out, but I’ll just say I came away from it severely bummed), so I’m very much looking forward to a do-over.

Kurt Vonnegut had some words to say about today’s day off.

I thought seeing this a few years ago would be the last time I’d see my favorite movie projected on 35mm.

Maybe I was mistaken…
LOST HIGHWAY (1997) screens in 35mm Saturday November 29th, at midnight. Tickets: buff.ly/DMGZWkC

This took me less than two minutes. Give me my million dollars.

Indulged myself in a little bit of Japanese V-Cinema this morning.

Guzoo- the Thing Forsaken By God Part 1 (there is no part two).

A quartet of high school girls are beset by a slimy tentacle monster. It thankfully did not go where you might be thinking.

I had completely written off the Bond franchise going forward, but now that I know Amazon has put their best and brightest fucking dumbshits on it, who knows?
James Bond’s death in No Time to Die is causing a nightmare for the next film. Writers are stuck because Bond “was blown to pieces.”

Anthony Horowitz, author of three 007 novels, says:

“You can't have him wake up in shower and saying it was all a dream."

In total dad mode on my day off. Slow cooking a pork shoulder all day and #NowWatching (rewatching) True Grit (2010).

Jeff Bridges truly is phenomenal in the film, but this and Crazy Heart really just took over his career. He’s basically been Rooster Cogburn for the past 15 years now.

Still thinking about a conversation w/
a mutual where I discovered the latest Hell House LLC is meant to be the finale, and what I took to be a cliffhanger tease was in fact a poorly explained flashback.

I originally gave it 2 stars but now I’m pretty sure it’s the worst movie I’ve seen this year.

Zerograd (1988) is my movie to beat for ‘discovery of the year.’ A nightmarish comedy about the fall of the Soviet Union. Surreal, funny, sad, at times beautiful.

I’m sure a lot of the cultural references went over my head but what an experience!

He’s already won but the endorsements keep on coming!
Canadian multimillionaire and Shark Tank guy Kevin O'Leary went on TV to say he's upset Zohran won't talk to him: "I and others who invest in real estate have tried to get a meeting to figure out what's rhetoric and what's policy. So far for me it's been crickets."

Didn’t watch a lot this week. This is pretty much the holdovers from my Halloween weekend.

Started hate-watching Welcome to Derry and… I kinda like it more than the movies? I’m not entirely sold- I don’t like Muschietti’s style and that military subplot is gonna drive me crazy- but the horror elements are some real sicko freak shit.

That’ll keep me coming back for now.

Woke up to this in north hollywood today. Seems like a sign that I need to watch a horror movie.

#NowWatching The Sect (1991) from director Michele Soavi and cowritten by Dario Argento.

This morning I slept in, but that means I was still up by 6am.

Watched Night of the Creeps before taking the youngest to Legoland for their last Brick or Treat of the season. She won ‘best homemade’ costume, and we saved a praying mantis friend from a busy walkway.

Not a bad October 32nd.

I had a real hard time getting into the Halloween spirit this year. Too busy, too tired, too overwhelmed by… the world. Nothing felt much like Halloween to me.

I’m gonna be home a bit more this month so I’m officially declaring November to be October Part II.
