Adrift in the Anthropocene
The family went off to Prague last weekend leaving me tasked with keeping the animals alive for the duration. We borrowed a cage for Tiny Ted so that he wouldn't electrocute himself while I was at work. It didn't seem to phase him in the slightest. But then, Graham was there to keep him company.

For those wondering about Byers' t-shirt in the latest Stranger Things series, this song should clear, uh, things up.

Anyway, giggage. Here's the Chimers. Excellent two-piece (hence low cost) support.

Freaky Tales isn't a great film; for a start, it tries too hard to be Pulp Fiction. But it is enormous fun and it's got a good heart: something we need in these bitter times. And that soundtrack is a delight. Weirdly, the Lords of the New Church cut on the trailer doesn't feature in the film itself.

Turned down a freebie for the Offspring tomorrow night. Because I've got root canal surgery instead. Still, a head full of novocaine should make the Scotland game more bearable.

My Dad loved his football. He's been gone these eighteen years, but I think he'd enjoy this Scotland game.

Mostly, though, I think he'd be stunned to see Craig Gordon still in goal.

Something weird going on in Glasgow city centre. Muffled bangs, sirens, police, fire engines, smell of cordite.

It's Scotland in the middle of November. This big guy shouldn't have been outside.

Had attempted to to stay home this weekend. Failed. Am arriving home now after going out on Friday. I need to sleep. Good seats, though.

Things you don't want to hear from your dentist: "Okay, time for plan B!"

I was originally planning on going for a pint and straw afterwards to settle my nerves but now fear it would be too messy. My right bottom eyelid is starting to go numb.

Currently sitting in the Solid Rock having a pint. Have already bought tickets for three top-notch gigs and had a flu vaccination. Today is a good day.

Our local supermarket has started selling eggs in open trays to cut down on packaging. This will mean a saving for all households that don't have a cat that eats egg boxes.

Daughter's been tidying the attic room (I suspect she wants it for herself) and says she found one of my stories in an old issue of Supernatural Tales. And she enjoyed it.

Thankfully it wasn't one of my more outre creations.
