Let’s be clear, most EBT users are white. The reason he’s specifically lying about “weaves” and we’ve seen so many AI fakes of Black women ranting about food stamps is they need to make BW the face EBT because they know many Americans don’t care if Black people suffer, and some actually wish for it.
ROB SCHMITT: People are using SNAP benefits to get their nails done, to get their weaves and their hair. This is a really ugly program.

SEN. RON JOHNSON: That program needs to be dramatically reformed.

Republicans understand that the best way to kill social programs is to paint their beneficiaries as Black, as support for these programs declines — even amongst white people who need them — when they think large numbers of Black people will benefit.

On the occasion of Halloween, @newrepublic.com asked me to write about what’s going on in Chicago and I wanted you all to know what randomized terror feels like. And also that as the federal government fails our kids, everyday Chicagoans are showing the courage of trying to protect them.
ICE Is Terrorizing Chicago for Halloween—and Parents Are Fighting Back
Fear and a whiff of tear gas hang over festivities this year. In response, even people who aren’t usually politically engaged are mobilizing.

The next wannabe governor from Florida was spared prison, had his record sealed, and got not one, but three chances at redemption. Now he’s pushing a D.C. crime bill that would deny those same chances to young adults in the District. That screams “opportunities for me, but not for thee.”

Fascism is here. We are not “getting closer” or “in danger of.”

This matters because it frames our discussion: We aren’t trying to prevent it, we’re trying to defeat it. It’s not taking over our institutions, it’s taken them over.

Otherwise, we’re always behind, fighting a past we’ve already lost.

As Neiman Lab notes, studies show most Americans trust PBS because it is publicly funded, which frees the platform from commercial pressures. READ: loom.ly/LATyjYg
Americans trust PBS because it’s publicly funded, not in spite of it
"President Trump says he is 'restoring trust in government funded institutions.' Our findings demonstrate that such trust already exists, in spades, towards PBS."

Because the reporting across outlets hasn’t mentioned it I want to stress that Justice Jackson referenced the courageous & resolute stance of federal judges J. Shelly Wright in Louisiana and Frank Johnson in Alabama who issued school desegregation orders in the face of “Massive Resistance” to Brown.
Powerful remarks from Justice KBJ last night. There was tremendous appreciation and gratitude in the room for her willingness to speak to this important issue so candidly and forcefully.

The plan to prove that the most incompetent White men are preferable to the most highly qualified Black men has been a smashing success.

Between the tariff lunacy tanking the economy, the chain-sawing of the federal govt, & Signal-gate (parts 1 & 2), the supremacy is not looking very supreme.
