The framing from legacy media on the Ms Rachel stuff is insane. Nowhere do they say that these are baseless claims, or that what she said (every child's life is precious and worthy) is not "Hamas propaganda." If u didn't know the background to this story and saw this post, you'd believe their smear

Last year, Republicans silenced her.

This year, many stood beside her and defeated four anti-trans bills.

This is the power of standing up for your beliefs and for what's right, and good trouble.

National Democrats, take notice.

‘Stop these crazy bills’: Republicans join Democrats to defeat anti-trans legislation in Montana
One bill would remove trans children from their parents, and the other would ban drag shows and Pride marches

wore some of my friendship bracelets for good vibes when opposing SJ 15 this morning, and it was thankfully tabled in committee! Good riddance, and deep gratitude to every brave person who spoke up in opposition today 💚🏳️‍🌈

creepy storybook villains have introduced SJ15 in MT, calling on the Supreme Court to reverse Obergfell. It will be heard Monday 3/3 @ 7am -join me in reminding them that queer people make MT great & that their platform of smallness & hate will never win bills.legmt.gov#/laws/bill/2... #mtpol #mtleg

between all the pearl clutching fake morality censorship nonsense and the reminder that we don’t ever really own digital media, I’m back on my book buying bullshit. happily picked up all these used books in the last few weeks (abebooks.com, my local used bookstore, and a book club swap!)

are you kiddddddding me, OF COURSE I’m going to get deeply into women’s rugby this year. Between a team called the Banshees and Ilona Maher, how could I not?

Major news! A court in Montana has just declared SB458, a bill that "defines sex" in a way that ends the legal recognition of transgender people in Montana, as facially unconstitutional.

This is the first time a bill defining sex has been ruled on!

Huge win for trans people in MT!

The Trump Administration is hurting American farmers.

By freezing USDA conservation grants for farms and ending USAID, which buys 10-20% of the whole export market, Trump is taking direct aim at our farms.
USDA freezes farmer funding for some programs, conservation contracts
The U.S. Department of Agriculture has frozen some funding for farmers as it goes through a sweeping review, despite assurances from the Trump administration that programs helping farmers would not be affected in the government overhaul.

I keep seeing people post about the Libby app being so amazing - Libby is your LIBRARY! Libby itself is not giving you free access to all those books - your library is!

If you can, make a donation to your local library foundation in honor of a librarian who has made a difference in your life.

I think those that live with the double, triple, quadruple issues of intersectionality have always understood:

Any suffering people in power do to one group, they will perfect it and do it to another.

When marginalized communities are being targeted, NO one is safe. It’s is only a matter of time

Was talking with my partner about how getting on our local school board is probably one of the most important things we can do in the next few years and how we need to do it BEFORE our kid starts school. Good thread to read through.
This is a thread about book banning. Right now, today, books are being pulled from shelves in libraries and classrooms, some by direct order, some in fear of what's coming. This is *exactly* what Project 2025 said was going to happen. Make no mistake: this is not about books; it's about people. 1/8

it’s wildly irresponsible for mainstream media to call romantasy books “smut” or “p*rn” in out-of-context headlines during an era of increasing book bans and purity culture hysteria.

this mischaracterization and willful ignorance of an entire genre is how you normalize book bans.
