Yeah, that’s the trouble. I know I can guide them in the right direction, but the “how” is more illusive. However, checking character motivations could be really helpful in getting some ideas together, so I’ll try that! Thank you!

I bought diced peppers and minute rice, so the prep took maybe about five minutes. I don’t know why I’m advertising it like it’s a recipe anyone would want to try…but there you go!

You could probably add different things to this recipe, especially if you can eat fish, but this simple dish worked really well for me! I think I would probably use more cream cheese next time, or wait for the rice to cool before I put it in, but it was very tasty and I was happy with it!

I made what I am calling “lazy onigiri” because I will only eat if it’s simple and easy to make, and I have a fish allergy, so I can’t have seaweed. What you see here is some minute rice, diced green bell peppers, cream cheese, and some shredded mozzarella cheese mixed together in a bowl.

I could ask them what their current thoughts are, I suppose! I don’t know if I’ll get any answers I can work with. It might be my fault as a first time DM for not fleshing out the world and the individual options the characters can do, though.

The party at that point can be a normal Halloween party or a chill get together, depending on your friend group’s vibe.

If anyone does this, can y’all tell me how it goes? I was thinking about this because I miss how it felt to trick or treat, and maybe this would heal my inner child.

Along the way at each house, the car’s occupants say “Drunk or treat!” and may receive either a tiny bottle of alcohol, a shot, a piece of candy, or another tiny Halloween prize. (That way, everyone can participate whether they drink or not.) The final house is the host.

If I had enough friends, I would do a “drunk or treat,” where everyone dresses up in costume and instead of everyone arriving to the party at a certain time, someone arranged to be the DD and picks up everyone.

It's nigh impossible to defraud SNAP. It can only be spent on food.

Sure you could use SNAP to buy soup and then sell the soup for money to get a mani/pedi or drugs.

Someone is still eating that soup.

That's the whole point. Someone gets to eat.

I’m working on a “trick or treating in the Nine Hells” side episode, but I feel the pressure to get the main campaign on track, and I don’t really know what to do or what my players want to do. I know what they should be doing, but I don’t know how to get them there.

I find my high levels of empathy disabling at times, though it does stem from social differences and people taking advantage of my kindness because I can’t tell they’re not reciprocating.
