I’m tired of engaging in debate on this issue with people who support the cut to WFA, refusal to raise tax threshold or reinstate CB & say cuts to disability benefits are ok bcos they are ‘just try to cut waste & fraud’. For my sanity I won’t engage any more. My position is this ⬇️
Placing the fiscal burden of the Tory legacy on poor, disabled & older people & failing to invest in the public sector we all need; instead of taxing the rich and multinationals is a political choice. We don’t have to accept it.
Not all of us carers claim it: it’s taxable so if you are already over the meagre personal allowance it is barely worth having. As PIP is not taxable, neither should be its ‘sibling’ benefit carers allowance.
So true. Eva you are an inspiring woman. Power to my trans sisters. 💪🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍⚧️
She is gorgeous just like her mum!
Fabulous pix. Glad you’re bringing your daughter up to be properly politically aware 😆. RFKj is a fucking lowlife.
I hardly ever answer the door at all, unless I’m expecting someone.
That’s very stylish. I shall remember it.
Meanwhile….here in England…..
I think too there’s a strong element of ‘keeping people in their place’.
Yes. Same for husband. Highest rate of both, awarded as ‘ongoing’ ie indefinite supposedly. We are hoping that as no review has been deemed necessary it will be ok as the changes are only supposed to kick in on review. But who knows….
The word ‘genuine’ in such context is a massive red flag.
How awful. My late mother had what sounds like the same condition. Back in the day she applied for (& got the highest rate of) DLA. She died at 65 of a massive stroke but at least had been granted the means to a happy, fulfilled life for her last 10 years. As it should have been, & should be now.
My husband has a significant, permanent and progressive neurological condition. Questionable whether he’ll still qualify.
A sausage bursting from its skin, overfilled with ego and smugness.
Played this while we signed the register at our wedding 💕
Cutting PIP is also not the smartest move as very many use it to actually enable working. Without it many will no longer be able to do so.
Yeah, sure. Frail people in their late 80s, maybe, should uproot themselves and move because the property market where they live has gone silly? The govt has saved about £1bn from this, comparatively small pickings.
Our (new,Labour, useless) MP doesn’t reply to most communications. The one time she did (about cuts to PIP) it was to regurgitate the party line with all the cliched buzzwords you’d expect. I still write to her, if only for the annoyance factor. 😊
The threshold is very high. The old couple may themselves still pay taxes and they can’t eat their house.
The decision to cut disability payments wasn’t ‘necessary’. It was a political choice, taken in preference to taxing the richest.
What planet is this tone deaf idiot on?
