New paper out from the lab, in collaboration with some amazing intramural researchers at NIH/NIAID. Trying to better understand what happens with Francesilla infections after vaccination to help identify area to improve T cell responses!

Non-hematopoietic tryptophan metabolism is a driver of ineffective T cell responses during secondary pulmonary bacterial infection - PubMed
Pulmonary infections often fail to produce long-lived immune memory and the underlying mechanism(s) for this are unclear. Given the complex interactions between cells within the lung, we predicted int...

Great having @stephseifertphd.bsky.social visit the FRIC to give a fantastic seminar on where viruses like Ebola come from through the use of modeling and bat tracking!

Are bats tolerant of all viruses? With a comparative -omics approach, we show that Egyptian fruit bat cells show both antiviral and pro-inflammatory immune responses to infection with Zika virus while our Jamaican fruit bat cells are not susceptible.
