I don’t think LLMs are conscious, but that’s just based on my gut feeling, not rational philosophical thought.
People get very worked up about this and always go into “but meat is special!” (as opposed to metal) argument

If Xi needs to start a war for distraction/legacy, he may be better served to go after the Russia-China border in Manchuria than tangling w Taiwan and drawing in US.
Lots of history of disputes over that border and Russia is weak, would be hard for them to fight on two fronts.

I saw Uncut Gems at an advance WGA screening with a Q&A afterwards and HATED it. It was excruciating to sit through. I bailed before the q&A. By the time i got home and my wife asked me what I thought of the movie I legitimately loved it - that is a rare high.
