Interpreting the 14A as narrowly as possible—as SCOTUS has done recently in Dobbs & Trump v. Anderson—aligns neatly with the larger GOP goal of destroying the New Deal state & reviving the overtly white nationalist apartheid regime of the Jim Crow era.
There has been no debate here among constitutional scholars, historians, political scientists, anyone with a pulse really.
Any telling you that this very straightforward point, one that has been universally accepted for a century and a half, is now an "abstruse" issue is just a liar and a hack.

Someone who once worked for this guy told me he was at a party where everyone was in one way or another, economically dependent upon him. Under those circumstances you don't get much pushback for dumb statements. When they do encounter that pushback, they think its wokeness that must be destroyed.
I hope all of these fuckers are identified and held legally accountable some day.

Might be the cold and dreary weather and a “to do” list that is chock full but I’m feeling low about the state of our country. It just seems to be getting worse by the day setting up a place I’m not sure I want to live or a country that will be one my kids will thrive.

My 2011 Outback has been a great car. 200,000 miles. Youngest has had it since 2021. Last year I put $5K into it. We just need it to live until JAN when he moves. Lately it’s had battery issues and I was finally able to get it to the local shop. Only $300. Praise Click and Clack.
