Even if we accept that "reliable and authentic centrist" was the trick, racism and misogyny have a lot to do with whether you are perceived as a reliable and authentic centrist.
Our co-founder, Lauren Harper Pope, made clear why Kamala Harris lost the 2024 election.

Hopefully the next two years will give Democrats plenty of time to “recenter and recalibrate” the party’s future.

Nazi tat affair useful because anyone doing bizarre prevarications atm re how its totally normal to have a Nazi tattoo, good actually, not a big deal that'd matter in an election, if anything its cringe you care, etc etc, has revealed you never need to take their politics opinions seriously again.

sums it up. headlines on crowd sizes and the feeling that maybe something happens (somewhere else) aren’t action, and getting a bunch of people to show up to a party for nothing isn’t organizing.

find your people and build something real.

this is completely false. the "unanimous" vote consisted of one person, Rick Scott, voting. The chamber was entirely empty except for him and Tommy Tuberville, & both of them had to be prompted as to how to execute the vote:

I'm sure you can find plenty of unhinged leftists because it's a really big country, but equating that with Fox News inching ever closer to the full Radio Rwanda experience is shameful so spare me anymore bothsides nonsense.

Not just NYC, but NYS too. Last week CVS wouldn't make an appointment for me (near Albany) but I was able to make one just fine last night.
Hey NYC people: As of today the governor’s override of federal guidance means you can officially get your new COVID vaccine. I’m getting mine at CVS right now

Yes, yes it does. And the more I can make them visibly cringe, the more amazing it feels.
i bet it feels amazing to be a middle aged college professor and say stuff like "napoleon wouldn't stay in his lane so the duke of wellington locked in" to a survey course of a hundred bored 18 year olds

With regard to these terrible Court decisions:

It is *CRITICAL* to resist the urge to give in to doomerism and declare that things not directly accomplished by the decision - removal of books from classrooms, age verification expanding to medical websites, and so on - are now the law.

The left better start figuring out how to weaponize today's decision rather than just (rightfully) criticizing it.

- Go back into Judge Kaczmaryk's court to dissolve all of his nationwide orders.

- Pass gun bans and insist any order applies only to plaintiffs.

Lots of people talking about New York politics who clearly haven't set foot in the city *or* state in their entire lives.

As someone who grew up in the tri-state area and has lived in New York State all my life, pretty nice to see that NYC might finally have a mayor that *doesn't* suck shit. I don't have *much* skin in the game since I'm upstate now, but NYC drives NYS politics, so this is a good result for everyone!

It's critical to remember that today’s ruling neither removes nor affects New York State’s protections for trans people and their right to access gender-affirming care in our state.

Anyone who comes to our state has the fundamental right to get the care they deserve.
