A demand made by a dictator, who would be arrested on sight in 99% of the world’s governments, is about as binding as a half-chewed piece of gum.

None of this would be happening, but somehow the 6 GOP judges know how the 4th amendment is supposed to work better than the people who wrote it. Even better than centuries of SCOTUS judges that came before these 6. Disgraceful!

ICE snatched a human rights hero.

Guan Heng risked his life to capture video of Uyghur concentration camps. After escaping to the U.S., Guan was in hiding for years, not knowing his work had been crucial to substantiating China's mass detention practices.

On Monday, he has an asylum hearing in NY.

The president posted that a shooting suspect is in custody. Officials on the ground say that is not true and the shooter is still at large. It's not just incompetence and posturing - this is how you get people killed.

Investigations reduced, inspections dismantled, watchdogs fired — all so corporations can pocket a few extra dollars while workers inhale toxins and families trust alarms that may never sound. Trump’s people-first rhetoric hides a profits-first cruelty that endangers every community.

A lot of private prisons work that way.

And some of them offer supplemental food through a commissary or canteen; so if phone calls don't motivate you to work for $1 a day, you can work to buy food that is slightly better than prison slop.

P.S. In a few states prison labor earns $0.00 per hour.

Went to their website. Noticed how marketing always frames it as something good. Their slogan "Better the public good." Kind of like "Citizens United" when we were anything but united.
