“Convenience” foods aka chopped, partially prepared, fresh frozen type foods are extremely helpful when you’re disabled. (It literally saves me from physical pain to spend less time on my feet.)
But because these are considered a convenience instead of accessibility, they are outrageously upsold.

Quick reminder: It’s expensive to be disabled.
Premade & prepackaged food is always more expensive, but disability can make it impossible to cook regularly/meal prep properly.
Co-pays and medication costs add up very quickly.
Items to make your living space accessible can get pricey.

Miss Major Griffin-Gracy passed away today according to the House of GG. She was a veteran of the Stonewall rebellion and a lifelong organizer for the safety and dignity of trans people, sex workers, and the incarcerated. She came from the same generation and milieu as Marsha and Sylvia. She was 78.
