Is Russia an existential threat to democracy?

For 100 years, Russia has perfected the art of undermining democracies:
- Funding extremists worldwide
- Coordinating massive disinfo campaigns
- Exploiting democratic vulnerabilities
- Creating systematic chaos
They're playing the long game.

+9 more months, +10 millions more users.
Congrats @bsky.app for reaching 40 Million users.
What does “Palestine Action” means? Genuine question.
76% DOWN. WOW.
900k down doesn’t tell the entire story.
3 out of 4 decided to not go to US anymore.
NATO has a purpose as proven at the European summit, when US was not invited.
Probably time for NATO to reconsider its membership list.
No way in hell is Putin so close to the front.
This is so false!
I understand you hate Trump and Musk.
I think Trump is the worst and I also think Musk is a psychopath.
But shitting on everything Musk does makes your credibility zero.
Musk is a psychopath, but truth is SpaceX has done fabulous, incredible feats that no other company is close to.
Two months later the counter reached 30 Million users.
Posting in this thread to have a view of the Bluesky’s growth over time.
So… probably not in Ukraine’s or Russia’s army.
You keep saying that it is a good article even though the only thing it stands on are anonymous sources.
It’s like, I trust it because it’s my buddy, and I think it’s telling the truth.
If you just google it, you’ll see what the Finns and Swedish authorities are thinking about.
And having spying equipment on board…
One should realize when being wrong.
Nothing gives credibility to this article.
And since recently not even the Wasgington Post’s name.
Eagle S, a russian shadow fleet tanker loaded with spying equipment.
This one cut the cables by mistake while… spying?
I think it’s more convenient for some leaders to consider it an accident.
Democracies must develop stronger "antibodies" against these tactics.
Because Russia sees this as existential warfare.
They'll use any means necessary.
There are no rules.
Just results.

Look at their playbook:
- Election interference worldwide (US, France, Germany)
- Brexit manipulation
- Supporting extremist parties in EU
- Fueling separatist movements
They're patient, persistent, and everywhere.

4/5
They weaponize democracy's strengths against itself:
- Free speech
- Unregulated social media
- Social polarization
- Ethnic divisions
- Economic frustrations
All become tools in their arsenal.

3/5
Their expertise in destabilization is vast:
- Century of propaganda experience
- Deep-rooted influence networks
- Masters of mass psychology
- Capability for complex operations
And they're willing to burn it all down.

Russia's 'peace' propaganda is like an abuser's logic.
They invade, then blame the victim for 'causing violence' by fighting back.

'If you'd just let me take what I want, there would be no violence.'

It's the same as telling a rape victim:
'If you hadn't resisted, it wouldn't be rape.
Alexander Dugin, Putin's architect for the annexation of Crimea.
Russian imperial dreams expand further
Next year!
Next year it will happen. :-)

Along with self driving car, reaching Mars, making Twitter profitable, building tunnels between cities!
I'm sorry if my question seemed doubtful.
Sources give weight and credibility to news - that's why journalists always include them.
It helps spread reliable information and builds trust in important developments like this one.
It’s an open source project that earns nothing from users. Kind of difficult for Trump/Musk to have leverage on it now.
For the future, depending on their plans, Europe would probably be a better choice.
Do you have a source for this?
