80-90% of polled voters say Direct File is a good thing. It is quite literally one of the most popular government programs in America.

If Democrats cared more about winning than making their donors happy, they could win 8-10 House seats next year just with ads showing off this tweet.

Do any @historians.org member utilize their healthcare benefit? If you're willing to share, I'd love to know about your experience with cost/coverage options. Please DM me! I moved and need a new healthcare policy; I want to know if getting AHA membership for this sweet benefit is the best route

28-year-old Pedro Luis Salazar-Cuervo, who has no known criminal record, was accused by Texas police of being in a Venezuelan gang because they found a photo of him posing with another man with tattoos, his lawyers say.

Migrant deported to El Salvador after DPS labeled him a member of Tren de Aragua without evidence, lawyer says
Lawyers for Pedro Luis Salazar-Cuervo deny he is a gang member and say the DPS accusation hinges on a photo they found of him standing next to a man with tattoos.

Public History is a cornerstone of community. It establishes a sense of place, promotes healthy public discourse, and can advance diversity, equity, and inclusion. It is also valuable work that should be respected and compensated. I am proud of @ncph.bsky.social for its commitment to labor equity.

This looks lovely but it isn't radical, its just well funded. Many have advocated for visible storage and a democratic approach to making reserve holdings accessible to an inclusive range of users for years. We've just been doing it on a shoestring budget.

So many MN place names use the Dakota word for water:

Minnetonka: big water
Minnehaha: curling water
Minneota: much water
Minnetrista: crooked water
Minneiska: white water
Minnewashta: good water
Minneopa: follows the water, two waterfalls
Minikahda: by the side of the water
Minneapolis: water city
The “minne” in Minneapolis & Minnesota comes from the Dakota word for water, mni.

We are truly a city of water. Flowing through Minneapolis are 22 lakes, one of the largest rivers in the world, a creek that traverses the entire southern part of the city, and a 53-foot waterfall. 💚💧💚

Just got word from my college roommate - who is the state archivist for the state of South Dakota - that due to the DOGE shutdowns of IMLS, they can no longer fund InterLibrary Loan in SD.

This means exchange between libraries, ability to get books delivered across the system, is gone as of 4/30.
