Reading Rainbow emphasis is encouraging kids to read. The focus is not on teaching them to read. The mission is reading should be fun!

We are all readers, worthy of literacy. LeVar Burton said “but you don’t have to take my word for it” because he wanted us to look to the books. That’s the beauty 💚

One of the worst headlines I’ve ever read
Sex toys are being hurled on the court at WNBA games. A cryptocurrency group says they're behind it – and planning for more.

The group says the acts are "pranks" intended to draw attention to their crypto meme coin and not meant to disrespect women athletes.
Crypto group claims responsibility for hurling sex toys at WNBA games
A spokesman for the cryptocurrency meme coin creators told USA TODAY Sports they launched sex toys as a lighthearted joke.

These two books have made for a truly invigorating summer. Very grateful for the nudge from @thevogelman.bsky.social to make space for more poetry in my classroom, as well as the cornucopia of incredible ideas (and poems!!) included.

At Alpha School in Austin, Texas, students spend just two hours a day on academics, led by artificial intelligence tools. The remaining hours rely on A.I. and an adult “guide” to develop other skills. New Alpha schools are set to open in about a dozen cities this fall. nyti.ms/3UuHfGC

For nearly 20 years, a friend has sworn (every single time he has a drop alcohol) that he once played multiple hours of $5 blackjack with Sammy Hagar. Obviously nobody believes him, but mostly because it upsets him so much 😂😂
Right folks. Feeling rather down at the moment so bringing back an oldie

Please Quote this with your most minor celebrity interaction

i think george lucas might have been reading lord of the rings when he made the first star wars films. because obviously “frodo” rhymes with “yodo.” and like frodo, yodo was a short little hero who carried a mystical glowing sword. kind of a cool tip of the cap from lucas there
