Today, on the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence against Women, we honour the 14 young women whose lives were tragically taken at Polytechnique Montréal in 1989.

Let us recommit ourselves to ending gender-based violence — once and for all.

November 25 marks the beginning of the 16 Days of Activisim Against Gender-Based Violence in the House. It was powerful seeing members from all sides come together, acknowledging both the urgency and the difficulty of addressing gender-based violence.

This week in Ottawa, I focused on housing, transit, mental health, and strengthening our democracy. I met with leaders from Gatineau Airport to transit, housing, youth, and local organizations like Movember and Institute for Canadian Citizenship.

This past weekend, the Northern Super League, Canada’s first professional women’s soccer league, held its historic Championship Final at BMO Field in Spadina–Harbourfront.
