@whimsicalmuse.bsky.social I feel like Anne Louise wrote this thread just for you. 🙂📚
The Second Window. Once upon a time, there was a green-eyed Tabby Cat who ran a bookshop by the Christ Church gate of Canterbury Cathedral. It was a marvellous place, four stories high, with treasures on every shelf & free buttered toast, plum cake & hot sweet tea for all who visited.

' A defendant's right to a jury trial would be restricted to prevent them from "gaming the system", Lammy also said. '

WTF is that supposed to mean?!?

Jurors have an absolute right to acquit a defendant based on their conscience - THAT IS THE SYSTEM

Imagine gaslighting hard enough to imply a threat that justifies self defense in this situation.

The Ford government spent $111.9 million of our money in one year on advertising promoting the Ford government so I feel like we’d better not see Doug or any of his cabal doing photo opps at food banks this Christmas telling us how much need there is.

Ok, but: Smith and Ford are both trying to limit health care in direct or indirect ways, UPC’s have brought up abortion bans, and both premiers absolutely refuse to protect the earth.

We aren’t better, Canada. We are also failing to make our governments work for us and not megacorps.
I'll just leave this here. Credit free Radio Canada.

U.S. ski resorts are bracing for a steep drop in international travel due to politics
Canadians usually head south for the skiing, shopping and nightlife in American ski towns. But due to cross-border politics, tourism to the U.S. is down, and some resorts are worried.

The Seamless MD app told me the hospital would call between 2:30 and 4:30 today with the time I should arrive at the hospital.

They just called - I need to be in Strathroy at 8:30.

The issue about killing the last 2 survivors is secondary: Trump and Hegseth have ordered *83* murders, not 2.
None of these people were ‘enemy combatants’.
They were suspected drug smugglers until proven to be guilty in a fair trial.
Without that, they were murdered.
That is all.

War crimes are like nuclear proliferation, each rationalizes the next by the other guys, at a level of greater severity.

It’s important to note from a military perspective that if a subordinate is about to give an unlawful order & his senior knows about it, it’s also a requirement for the senior official to stop him from executing it. And then counsel/discipline him.

So there’s that, too.
