A study on 1.7 million people in Hong Kong shows superior hybrid immunity to Covid in people who got vaccinated before infection vs. people who got infected first. "Our findings are a direct rebuttal to arguments for natural immunity," the authors write. doi.org/10.1016/j.va...

To me, nowadays at least, the presence of a dropdown list instead of freeform input is almost always a sure sign of programmer laziness or incompetence. The worst offender is a dropdown that lists all years between 1800 and 2025 as potential birthdays.

Trump replacing MLK Day and Juneteenth with his birthday as free entry days at national parks is the most on-brand, white-supremacy-coded tantrum he’s thrown all month.

When Pete Hegseth talks about “the fog of war”, he’s referring to his mental state, after drinking his favorite bourbon.

Just a reminder that all claims that NATO expansion is a threat to Russia are posted by useful idiots who have fallen for the Kremlin's longstanding propaganda and should not be taken seriously because they're nonsense.

The White House is blaming Admiral Bradley for the order to kill survivors of a US Navy strike against their vessel.

Maybe he gave the order, and maybe it came from Hegseth. Either way, Bradley is guilty. He has a legal duty to refuse unlawful orders, and he should damn well know it.

Just a quiet, sad little PSA.

If someone is estranged from their parents, please please don’t give them the ‘but they’re your mum/ dad’

They were their mum / dad when they did the worst imaginable things to their own kids.

It’s not up to the children to make it ok. It’s up to them to live well.

If the Venezuelan sailors were enemy combatants, then the 2nd strike is a war crime.

If the Venezuelan sailors weren’t enemy combatants, then both strikes are criminal murder.

It’s that simple.

The best way to get Congress to care about the Federal minimum wage is to pass a law that sets Congressional salaries at a fixed multiple of it. As an example, if we set House salaries to say, 15x the minimum wage, Congress would immediately raise the minimum wage to at least $15.

I like the part where Johnson complains that congressional pay hasn’t changed since 2009.

Someone should tell him that the federal minimum wage hasn’t changed since then either.
