I’m running for the U.S. Senate so the people who built Colorado can take back control of our healthcare, our homes, and our futures.
Working people built Colorado, we deserve a government that finally works for us.

I think it's unfair to compare the Democratic Party to UK Labour under Starmer. I think it's absolutely true that the mainstream centrist press, exemplified by the NYT, wants the Democratic Party to be the UK Labour Party under Starmer, though.

To skeptics, we often ask what Donald Trump would be doing differently if he *were* a Russian asset bent on destroying the country from within; I now posit a similar question: if Dem leadership *were* controlled opposition, what would they be doing differently?

I think we've seen enough that if any group wants to get Platner out the paint, either find a clip of him doing the sieg heil, or get someone like Shanna Bellows or Troy Jackson to switch from the Governor race to Senate. I really don't think Mills is gonna clutch it out

The last time Democrats won the generic ballot by double digits people were still wearing those New Year's glasses with the zeroes as the lenses, and the last time before that the Atari 2600 was the leading gaming console

We're not getting that good an environment but even a 2018-level wave gets us one or two of those reach seats and suddenly the Senate is a near-tossup
TX/AK/KS/IA/OH/NE/FL going down in one year would be like a hammer blow to the Republican psyche
14% national swing is the exact kind of shit that starts knocking over reach senate seats like dominoes

I think people conflate “gerrymandering is unrepresentative and therefore unfair” with “California has the same number of Senators as Wyoming which is unrepresentative and therefore unfair” in their heads.

The only card they have left to play is starting a war. However, for once in their lives, the media isn't taking the bait and manufacturing consent
a thing to ask yourself re: the GOP's electoral position is what could happen over the next year that could *improve* its position? and what could trump do, plausibly, that might *boost* his numbers with the public?

wait 93% of an already high-engagement midterm? what the fuck
So I predicted R+7, thinking it wouldn't tell us much beyond what we already know. What we actually got was R+8.5 or so, but at 93% of midterm turnout, and that to me is a much better and more meaningful result

Tonight was pretty good for Democrats, but you have to remember these are special elections. There is no Easter Bunny, there is no Santa Claus, and there is no double-digit advantage in the national environment coming for Dems. It just doesn't happen in regular federal elections.

Fuck
First counties that are done in TN:

—Wayne: Van Epps wins it by 70%. (Green had won it by 74%.)
—Decatur: Van Epps wins it by 65%. (It was Green by 65%.)
—Perry: Van Epps (R) wins it by 55%. (It was Green by 63%.)

Early vote was much less red in each. This is really not enough for Dems.

Will they have the time? More importantly, will they really want to gamble on 2024 being a status quo coalition?
