weaponized ragebait has you so locked in on the discourse and "drama" that you wont let your brain rest properly. or even just wander a little. I fear it might just be making us lose our humanity. (yes, you too)

love yourself more. please.

Authoritarian propaganda ruthlessly exploits peoples need to belong, latent resentments, insecurities and helplessness. To compete you need to dive into the dark operating theatre of human desire….some lessons from research across Europe thats applicable to to US

learning from history does not mean learning to fight the exact same battles your predecessors did in the exact same way.

it means learning patterns of actions and behavior to help you notice and adapt better to your own, and also what worked and what mistakes were made by everyone along the way.

you cannot fight for the people and truly hate them at the same time.

you cannot wish to abolish state violence, and demand that anyone who has ever made any kind of mistake ever must be banished for life, or harmed.

you cannot break free from the system you are helping to perpetuate.

so we are gonna wake up and stop doing all this doomer, nihilist cope bullshit now, right?

there has ALWAYS been hope, its just way easier to only notice the bad, especially when there has been a VERY CLEAR, TARGETED EFFORT to make everyone think everyone is awful and to hide in escapeism.

People who are willing to admit they were wrong about something, or made a mistake, or just changed their minds about something they once strongly believed after learning more are really strong and amazing people.

If social media is the majority of your activism or resistance, you need to urgently change how you operate.

We need ANYTHING different besides clout competitions in tech fascist petri dishes.

The real issue isn’t left vs right.

It’s not white vs black.

It’s not citizen vs immigrant.

It’s not gay vs straight.

The real issue is that a lot of powerful people have a vested interest — and a lot of money invested — in dividing us, and it’s working.

Strong piece in which @brittanyepage.bsky.social attempts to apply the term “political violence” consistently and thereby highlight the asymmetric crisis we’ve always been facing.

"No one is talking about XYZ"

What you see on the internet is largely determined by one or other algorithm feeding you content based on information about you and the people, places, things, etc. that you interact with - this information being given freely by you and others around you AND otherwise.
