Things were never the same when the class 50s were withdrawn. The 47/7s were a novelty for a while. Then the 159s came. It turns out they did a damn good job- and are still doing it to this day!
But. To me, the 50s were king on the Waterloo Exeter trains.

Sometimes I see #modeltrain weathering so good that if it wasn't for the fingers i'd think it was real. I don't think I ever get bored by how good so many modelers are at making tiny thing look big.

I'm setting most of my stock to roughly 2006, which means weathering and graffiti. I know it's not everyone's cup of tea, but I love finding cars on rrpicturearchive.net to make copies of. I've just finished a mural on a Railbox FMC boxcar, my favourite job so far. Weathering still to be done.

Privileged to join guests at Darlington station in the small hours of this morning, to welcome a replica of Stephenson's Locomotion No. 1 as it joined the Darlington-liveried @lner.co.uk Azuma train before recreating its journey to Stockton just as the original had 200 years previously to the day 🙌

Hartley Bank Screens by John Burgess is based on the empties yard of a small West Yorkshire colliery and is set in the late 1960s. It is built to 4mm scale, EM gauge and is DCC operated - and you can see it at the expoEM Summer 25 on 30/31 August📍WF2 7EL 🎟️ £11 on the door #expoEM.

I suspect those under & over moments at the bridge were always a big part of what made Dduallt so appealing as a layout - I hope Minffordd may have some of that magic for exhibition-goers, even if they’re not into the Ffestiniog or Cambrian Coast nostalgia.

An update - thank you for all the help in sharing so far. We have not yet identified this individual, but the crime has been reported to BTP - Crime number is 2500093131, Log number is 194 03/08/25. If any info comes to light, the log reference and details can be texted to 61016.
