I, as a white man, have more in common with many in my community which is mostly Hispanic. This isn't a race thing. It's a decency thing. I always stand for decency and common sense. The opposite of the GOP. We have much more in common than not. We are all the same and different.

This is the way, y’all—we protect each other, and we know it.

Democracy isn't just about voting.
Proof. White Americans.
Reason. There are significantly more white voters in America, but they are poor; they don't reap the fruits:
1. Improved Health Outcomes
2. Better Education Access
3. Access to Public Goods
4. Economic Stability and Prosperity

I'm still thinking about the "quiet, piggy" comment like many other people. How does any man in 2025 get away with such a thing without having his face immediately caved in by a fury of fists?

The thread below makes a lot of sense. Isn't running for a local position a reasonable, normal first step into a career in politics? Start in your community and learn the ropes before you set your sights on Washington.

Why has everyone decided that they should START their political career in Congress?

When I tell people to “run for something,” I mean school board, city council, board of supervisors, town select board, water board, state house/assembly, maybe even mayor.

How is this even real life? Apparently, there *is* nothing this guy can't do. I am astonished daily that the entire country hasn't erupted, but every day, day after day, 240M American adults do absolutely nothing. I'm not even American, and I've taken more action most most US citizens.

And again, this was not enough for Americans to rise up. He murders people on fishing boats, he takes food and medical care from citizens, he invites a murderer to the White House, and Americans do not rise up. The average American is complicit in all of this. 240M US adults doing nothing.

It's always hard to pick a worst day politically, but today the president called for the death of members of the opposition party, and the administration decided that people were being too hard on the swastika

It will get worse because American citizens are completely fine with their own complicity. There are millions of non-Americans worldwide who have done more to fight Trump than almost every single American has because most Americans are doing exactly nothing useful. 240M US adults not doing shit.
Trump now says that to rebel against the authority of the state is a DEATH PENALTY offense. And who determines rebellion? Why he does of course. Can it get any worse?
Of course it can.

But no one will do anything because Americans prefer to be commentators and spectators rather than participants or players in democracy. Americans will call Trump a Nazi, then go home to watch Surviver or Real Housewives or some shit instead of doing anything useful to remove the Nazi from the WH.

It is demented and it is manipulative and it is abusive.

Except the *vast majority* of those willing to do anything are only interested in #3. Everything else takes too much effort and involves too much risk. It seems Americans love their freedom and democracy until it requires risk. Then it's let's wait and see about the next votes. That'll be too late!

I really think a lot of this could have been avoided if we had compulsory international service for a year after high school - like army style, but “get the fuck out of the country Timmy and eat them apples for a while”

It is time for white Americans to STEP UP. Enough of the mediocre life you have chosen for decades. It is a shame to be poor in the wealthiest nation in the world. Get OUT and PROTEST nonstop. Demand a decent living for all Americans. We helped create the wealth but only made the Oligarchs rich!

Not everybody who talks about God is godly or even believes in God.

Not everybody who calls themselves a Christian is a Christian or even understands the Gospel.

And not everybody who hugs an American flag believes in the Constitution of the nation which that flag represents.
