The guy shot two random people with a gun, I don't think you can say he wasn't assimilating into our culture
Stephen Miller is now arguing that assimilation is fundamentally impossible and that certain cultures are not compatible with Western civilization

Every prompt to chatbot software is “generate me some text.” If it generated you some text, it performed its function correctly. It never lies, it never wants anything, it’s text generating software that generates text.
Not wanting to disappoint you so much that it lies is the last quality I want in a computer.

Penned-in plan: play videogames until my eyes fall out.

Reality: pinned to the sofa by two purring cats, reading AO3 in my phone and typing posts with my single free hand.

Update: Elder Dog came and started whining until she managed to closely sniff the cats. She loves them, but that love is not reciprocated by one of them so that one left - I have my right hand back now, but my lap is still under a cat.

This is what I have lived my entire life in Europe. Why I never moved to the US, been offered many jobs, but the lack of proper health care, and the thought of my children being killed by some gun loon in school, kind of put me off. Proper health care is a human right, not a luxury.

Lots of people sharing this clip because it's funny and cathartic but I also genuinely believe it's important.

We have to win the narrative battle between "I live in a corrupt society and that's just how it is" and "I live in a corrupt society and we are going to defeat and humiliate these ghouls."

Hey, Ninja Gaiden II! I was able to one-life it back then (I could always reach the second-to-last boss without dying, even odds I could kill it without restarting, last boss was a breeze)

I am not going to see if I can still pull it off because I fear the answer would make me face my mortality.

It's objectively strange that Chrono Trigger is the name of a JRPG series about time travellers dealing with a crisis, and Time Crisis a series of light gun games.

Maybe I'm missing an important point, but the Ford gov's claim that "Landlords will lower rents if they can rent out more of their properties now that we've given them more power over tenants" feels like something you'd say if you'd never literally never heard of capitalism before in your life.

The BBC removed a line about Trump being the most openly corrupt president in American history...from a lecture about the cowardice of today's elites.
I wonder if the BBC has heard of the Streisand Effect
I wish I didn’t have to share this. But the BBC has decided to censor my first Reith Lecture.

They deleted the line in which I describe Donald Trump as “the most openly corrupt president in American history.” /1
