Tanggol Migrante is demanding Sorio's deportation be canceled so that he can be receive proper medical care. In a statement, Sorio's lawyer said he is not fit for travel on a 20-hour flight back to the Philippines. Sorio currently relies on a wheelchair due to his illness.

UPDATE: Last night, Philippine Airlines refused to allow Greggy Sorio's deportation after pressure from community members, activists and medical professionals. The company cited his poor health condition, saying Sorio was not fit fly. He remains in ICE detention for now.
