No matter how many todo or planner apps I try, I always fall back to writing sticky notes and placing them all over my apartment.

I take back everything I said. This new administration is clumsy, reckless, and embarrassing.

Again, mostly rambling. I guess what I’m trying to say is there is something deeply broken in the progressive movement.

And no, I don’t feel pressed to “fix it”.

Since slavery we have leaned on black women for their activism.

Count me out.

I do not volunteer to take on this latest burden.

Also political messaging has consequences. A decade ago if one would have spent all their time focusing on liberal causes such as Occupy Wall Street and ‘eat the rich’ they would have missed:

- best real estate investing market ever
- crypto
- the tech boom
- heavily subsidized urban lifestyle

I post here, because I’m trying to clarify to myself how I feel about this political moment.

Are Republicans in power my friends?
- Probably not

Is reform a cover for a power grab?
- Definitely, but not 100%

Could this end badly?
- Yes

Also can’t we implement government spending reform without terrorizing immigrants, trans, and black people.

Republicans aren’t wrong for wondering where’s the money going.

Instead of reform, we’re replacing one grift for another grift.

Le sigh.

1. The federal government is overdue for an audit.

2. Only authorized personnel should gain access to everyone’s SSN.

Can’t 2 things be true at the same time? 🤷🏿‍♀️

Unpopular Opinion: Are you a tech founder and want alpha? Spend a year in North Carolina.

You’ll see how people REALLY use AI.

You’ll meet millionaires who kill cockroaches for a living (true story).

Finally you’ll witness that hard work, not smarts wins the day.

Listen to “The Political Gabfest” and “All-In”.

I think Trump is a fraud, but I no longer have patience for the liberal party.

We are so much more than our race, gender or our parent’s socio-economical background.

I admire success.

And I don’t make rude assumptions that all accomplished people received “family help”.

Good article on Trump’s appeal. There’s much about this piece I don’t relate to, but I understand the importance of yearning for greatness. thepointmag.com/politics/las...

I expected to find something of a political sideshow at NatCon; instead, I found a movement, perhaps the only one I’d encountered during my time in D.C.

Coding is now easier and faster than WordPress.

The only thing that stops me from using next.js for all of my projects are themes.

Outlook is such a corporate tool. It prioritizes processes over productivity.

Never worked with an email client that tried so hard to be indistinguishable from middle management.

Not sure where to get my news anymore. I actually agree that mainstream media is too tilted to the left and has become an unofficial mouthpiece for liberals.

On the other hand, it’s been near impossible to find thoughtful analysis (positive and negative) on a Trump 2.0 government.

Pet peeve? Website builders that *still* have a hard time handling breakpoints. I’m used to responsive working out-of-the-box. This has been a solved problem for CSS frameworks for about a decade. Low-code needs to catch up.

It’s so funny that GitHub has a sub-section in their Settings page called “Developer Settings”

My dude these are all developer settings

Honestly, AI tools make programming such a joy. I can build w/o all the bullshit that used to come with coding:

No more dealing with “edge cases”

No more dependency issues

No more silly syntax errors

ChatGPT has been an absolute game changer in enabling me to actually ship applications.

Spent years coding countless apps, just to abandon the 90% done projects because I was blocked or contended with an obscure bug.

Coding with AI already makes pre-2022 seem like the old days.

every so often I get a comment like "you should sell a bundle of all your zines" and I really worry about my marketing, like that is the main product we sell! (though you can def buy individual zines too)

anyway we do have a bundle of all the zines and the PDF version is 50% off today :)
it's zine sale time!

from now until the end of the day on Friday, all my PDF zines are 50% off with the discount code WIZARDPDF

print zines are 30% off with code WIZARDPRINT

Social media is in desperate need of innovation. Meta is only letting you have a slice of control over what you see because Bluesky is here building for you.
We wrote on Saturday about how Meta is going all-out to meet the threat of Bluesky: wapo.st/3OrYxBj

Today they took another step— finally allowing users to set their default feeds to a chronological “following” feed.
