I discovered pomegranates in high school. We’d sneak off grounds at lunch, stroll the aisles of a new store in town that sold fruits and veggies from places far from the instant meals served at home. Mom began the tradition of putting one in my stocking when she found out.

In Celtic folklore, the goddess Brigantia has the badger as her sacred animal totem. This connection highlights new life, wisdom, and the emergence of spring. The badger is an earth-dwelling creature that symbolises new life emerging from beneath the earth.

This piece is a decade old, but it was my #watercolor breakthrough! I’d made decent paintings before it, but nothing on such a big scale, with such an exploration of textures and colors.

In the ancient stories of Norse mythology, there was a unique creature. This creature was Ratatoskr, a playful squirrel. It lived in the roots of the great world tree, Yggdrasil. Ratatoskr roamed Yggdrasil, linking countless worlds within its branches.
