At the end of this bad week, a friend gave me a lovely compliment: he told me I'm a north star person for him. I almost cried. We've known each other for 10+ years (we met when I was 50 and he was 25). I helped him with his surprise proposal to his wife, and I couldn't be prouder of who he's become.

last month I went to Seattle and my friend asked me what I might like to do. "we should go to La Conner and see if we can spot #TomRobbins," I said, half joking. definitely my favorite author. I have 3 tattoos of his books. he was a huge influence on my thoughts and writing. happy trails, good sir.
