If you notice ice where people have been walking on the snow it's created by a process called sintering. Partially melting the little flakes and then they refreeze and get compacted and you get ice. It's how glaciers are formed. #weatherwisdom

The final Calvin and Hobbes cartoon. The entire page is mostly white as they're in the winter snow. The pair is walking with a sledge, nicely duffled in in scarves, hats, gloves. Calvin delightedly exclaims 'wow, it really snowed las night! Isn't it wonderful?'. Hobbes follows up with 'Everything familiar has disappeared! Can't recall a storm that put down 5" in Boston with bare ground in Weymouth and Cape Ann...while getting 3" on Nantucket with 1" in Worcester

Not a well modeled nor well forecast event
