Divination

I draw the cards,
not to see what’s coming,
but to make sense
of what already hurts.

@ my body: please for the love of all things, let me breathe through my nose again 😭 why are the winter bugs going around already
Been a little bit poorly the last few days, hence the lack of activity on here. I'm feeling a bit better today though, so here's to getting some words done! #writingcommunity #creativesofbsky
Like to charge, repost to cast 😌✨🪄
Affirmations: everybody wants to read my book. my book is worthy of publishing. editing my book is worth the time and effort. my second draft is not a lost cause. agents will want to take me on 0.3 pages into my book. #writingaffirmations #writingcommunity #writesky #fantasynovel

aaaaaand every other website and app is down right now. Glad I got my Wordle in earlier 😅 #awscrash #writingcommunity #canvadown
Passed 50k on my second draft by the skin of my teeth last night! The halfway point is definitely spurring me onwards, and if everything goes to plan, I should be done with this draft by the end of November! How is your WIP going? #writesky #writingcommunity #fantasywriters
Indeed! I swear October only just started last week, and September the week before. Who knows, tomorrow might be Christmas 😂

Ah very true - I need to do a few things myself before winter sets in. Autumn has really flown past so far hasn't it?

An oak leaf frolics and twirls
As it descends in rust whirls
While a wren swings gracefully
And magpies sail happily.

Good morning creatives! It's Friday!!!!!! 🥳 Can't wait for this week to be over. Thank you all who dropped some fabulous book recs in my notifications last night - I'm stocking up my TBR! How excited are we for the weekend, from 1-10? #writingcommunity #writesky #booksky #creativesofbsky
Ooh those sound very intriguing... I'll definitely check them out! Thank you for the recommendation 🥰
Oooh your blurb sounds fantastic! 🤩 Definitely adding it to my TBR thank you!
Real it went very sideways and kind of ruined the suspension of disbelief.
Honestly that makes it even more appealing! I'm not the biggest fan of romance-heavy books and psychological horror is my absolute favourite kind of horror 😁
Ooh yes I did think Drews' writing was excellent, and her premise was great. It was the ending twists that felt rushed and fell flat for me, so I'm definitely willing to give her another go when that comes out. I'll check out Sarah Porter then too!
- dark fantasy (not romance so much as fantasy-horror but slightly less scary eg. Don't Let the Forest In by C.G. Drews but hopefully ah. a less disappointing ending. I'm trying to think of another example but I've only really got into this kind of thing recently so.)
I am DETERMINED to get out of this reading slump by the end of October.... book recommendations are very welcome (including your own!😉)
What I'm in the mood for:
- cozy horror (think Hare House by Sally Hinchcliffe)
- heavy worldbuilding (Robin Hobb... but maybe not quite as long or slow-paced)
