Another one of these cartoons birds as #BirdOfTheDay is the #Tit family. Ditto…at Grisedale trays. Came back this am because forecast suggested better light, although it wasn’t much better for the main show. This was a bit later coming back from the hide…lucked out!!

It’s that time of year when these very reclusive birds emerge from the reeds in search of grit to help their stomachs adjust from a summer diet of insects to a winter one of seeds. OK, you can call them bearded reedlings if you really must.
