This isn’t just elites. Right wingers can’t find meaning in art because the vast majority of art that makes any meaningful statement about the world is progressive and therefore conflicts too heavily with their world view. Conservatives like AI slop because they think it levels the playing field.

It’s wild to completely foreclose on your child growing up to be a decent person because his pre k teacher said he was good at whatever kind of math 4 year olds do.
I think the belief by the powerful that "people will put up with many things if you are excellent at math" is incredibly revealing in terms of understanding How We Got Here

This man did not endorse or come together with mamdani’s campaign in any sort of way. His use of “we” is stolen valor. He’s didn’t do shit to help.
Congratulations to all the Democratic candidates who won tonight. It’s a reminder that when we come together around strong, forward-looking leaders who care about the issues that matter, we can win. We’ve still got plenty of work to do, but the future looks a little bit brighter.

I do not think he should be mayor, but this is so much healthier of an approach to take toward a democratic election than anything we are hearing from Andrew Cuomo. Cuomo is going to leave NYC the moment he loses. Sliwa seems to truly want to stay in this great city.
