And we knew this. This wasn't speculation. We studied it, we had the talking points. We trained volunteers to explain this to people. It's not a surprise. Rich people don't flee places with good quality of life when we increase the quality of life. They might try to cheat us, but they don't leave.
NEW: The first two years of Massachusetts' millionaire tax has raised $3 billion more than expected.

And rather than driving the rich away, IPS researchers found that the number of millionaires has *increased.*

Tax the rich. Greg Ryan in @bloomberg.com:
Millionaire Tax That Inspired Mamdani Fuels $5.7 Billion Haul in Massachusetts
A millionaire levy in Massachusetts that New York City mayoral frontrunner Zohran Mamdani holds up as a model for taxing the rich has generated $3 billion more in revenue than expected without forcing...

I'm excited to watch the new Mario Movie with my nephews but I'm MORE excited to listen to the big brassy orchestral covers of Mario themes over and over during the next several years. It is very kind of Nintendo to make these movie soundtracks just for me

4 ideas:

- Bond as a zombie. Parts fall off

- Bond comes back as an agent of the lord, who must stop (and occasionally sleep with) demons

- Bond is a ghost, and the only person who can see him is Q. And he has to guide nerdy Q into becoming a spy and saving the world

- Reincarnated as a fish
James Bond’s death in No Time to Die is causing a nightmare for the next film. Writers are stuck because Bond “was blown to pieces.”

Anthony Horowitz, author of three 007 novels, says:

“You can't have him wake up in shower and saying it was all a dream."

I don’t have a whole lot of advice for people younger than me but the earlier in life you stop worrying about what other people will think and just wholeheartedly enjoy the stuff you like the happier you’ll be
One thing people kind of tell you, but not really, about middle age:

One day you'll be like "oh [thing] looks fun but people will think I'm a loser" about a thing

And then you'll say. Wait a second.

Fuck 'em
Darn Tough turned me on to Cute Socks and I've never looked back

It's true of every creative space I've been in -- writing, video-making, game dev -- that when new people ask for advice, they're really after the secret silver bullet to make good things easily.

But the secret to anything creative is you show up every day and do the work, even when it's hard.
Authors are constantly telling people how they made it! It's just that it takes a LOT of hard work and *patience* but people like this didn't wanna hear that advice. They think there's some kind of secret code or magic words that'll let you skip all that.
gosh, shut up

Maybe not an injoke, but I often make slight adjustments to my background between videos to either reference previous stuff i've done or hint at what I might be working on.
Fellow YouTubers/Creators: I'm curious if you have any in-jokes that you add to your videos or your art, that nobody really notices but it makes you happy?

I post all my weekly recaps at 6:16, because I make videos about Marvel and that's the number for the main universe.
