You are misunderstanding what I’m saying. And yes, 100%, laws are an entirely arbitrary thing. Do I need a cert to build a wall in my garden? No. Do I need a cert to build the same wall in your sector? Yes. Does it make the wall any different? No. Why do I need the cert? Cus someone decided I do.

But to be able to perform the task doesn’t require a cert. It’s only an arbitrary decision made by someone that says you need a cert before being allowed to do that task.

Nothing “requires” qualifications. Absolutely nothing. Many things require a skill. But nothing requires a certificate to say you have those skills.

I’m one of those boring keep fitters. Running, swimming, riding, kayaking. You name it I do it. My body is falling apart due to injuries and wear and tear. My wife fucking hates excercise. She 3 months older than me and in perfect physical health.
