Director Bruce Brown’s films brought surfing to millions. Brown (born today in 1937) is best remembered for The Endless Summer – one of the great surfing films of all time. Brown & his team traveled across the world documenting the surfing exploits of Robert August & Mike Hinson. Brown died in 2017.

On this day in 1981, #SoftCell released their debut studio album, "Non-Stop Erotic Cabaret".

The album's success was bolstered by the popularity of the cover version of #GloriaJones song "Tainted Love", which topped the charts worldwide and became the second best-selling British single of 1981.
