Wonder if SNOT will actually have any real value in 5-10yrs. Like most kids, my 12yo very rarely watches FTA TV (and only if we put it on) - I bet most kids/teens these days could not even tell you what the names of the FTA stations are if asked. Quite a difference to the past where *everyone* knew.

I sincerely hope Albanese and Ley get bombarded with political spam and survey calls/texts - hopefully lots of other MPs details in these databases too so they can also suffer. Maybe this will finally encourage them to enforce opt in laws for this.

Shocked, but thoroughly unsurprised to learn Malka Leifa was hiding out in an illegal settlement in West Bank run by those linked to this cult (also clearly a community that was actively helping her avoid being brought to trial). I hope all those in charge eventually face justice & jail time too.

Watched Surviving Malka Leifer tonight - such brave souls to have fought their way to (some) justice. Can't get over what a shitty group of people the Melb Adass Israel leaders were to have covered it all up/helped her flee & likely allowed it happen to others.

People of Russian background overseas don't fear discrimination, they aren't taking to the streets and supporting Putin/Russia. These sort of members of the Jewish community are the ones that keep conflating religion with Israel & 100% supporting what is Israel is doing.

Such poor journalism from TheAge/SMH. A "safer place" would be one where the ENTIRE Jewish community speaks out and opposes the genocide / ongoing apartheid being committed & the government doesn't provide Israel with weapons. The comments here/people waving Israeli flags show the opposite.

(as a developer) : it's not the software developers. It's f*cking product managers/marketing/execs/ceo's who think shoving unwanted AI (that adds no value) down everyone's throats is a good idea so they can post about on linked in or mention it in their press releases/keynotes. It will pass.

There's over 3.9m Apps on Google Play & Android is a very open platform (opposite to iOS which is heavily sandboxed). Preventing malware being published is an impossible task given this. They're trying to provide an easier way for users to trust known publishers & know Apps can't be tampered with.

I'm not aware of any plans at all to prevent sideloading or use of other App stores - that will still be an option for those who want that. They are trying to create a safer and more reliable Google Play store where users can have higher level of trust for Apps/publishers that are offered there.

The previous developer identification process was easy to circumvent (no proper checking occurred) - they previously allowed anyone and everyone & malicious publishers could use names that sounded like other legitimate companies to trick users into installing their apps.

Ok (as an App developer/understanding of the tech side) - there's 2 things here :
1) Much stricter verification process requiring official biz documentation, previously virtually no checks.
2) Apps are now strongly signed by the Store (similar to Apple) instead of devs using weak signing certs.
