I know some of you like @nightowlcardz.bsky.social might prefer the 75 Holtzman but just look at this Billy Williams that @alanabbs.bsky.social sent me from last Sunday’s free card swap hosted by @ngtcollectibles.bsky.social and tell me you don’t love these colors!

Shout out to @metsuniverse.bsky.social for the nice Jose Ramirez cards. Also a big thanks to @ngtcollectibles.bsky.social for running the Sunday free card exchange. Looking forward to this week's exchange!
This has been a high end World Series. Very fun to watch.
I told the kids at the school I work at this afternoon that I had a feeling this World Series would go to game 7. Well, here we are.

Show me any awesome card in your collection. 1980 Topps has nothing on a 1979 TCMA Rickey. 🐐
A loose personal connection. Alex Call of the Dodgers was born in the Twin Cities in 1994, the year I graduated from high school in St. Paul, MN. He later graduated from River Falls High School. I started college at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls the same month Call was born.

A trio of thank yous to @jaywigley.bsky.social for sending me this pair of Nolan Ryan stickers & 1981 Topps! Jay is one of my favorite people on the @ngtcollectibles.bsky.social Sunday giveaway where these were claimed. An additional thank you to Nathan for graciously hosting the thread!
An estimated 15.7 million workers use SNAP. It’s a lifeline for those in low-wage jobs.

Meanwhile, CEOs are paid 280x as much as the typical worker.

Don’t be angry at workers for using food stamps.

Be angry at the corporations paying them so little that they need them.
The #MNWild are just trash so far this season. They look nothing like the team that made the playoffs last year, let alone a team that could contend for the Cup.
I have more than a few people in my immediate circles that have SNAP. It's super helpful to them, but no one I know is able to survive solely on it. And even those who are getting more than that, it's designed to be an "immediate support" - ain't no one stockpiling large amounts of food with SNAP.
The "smoking crack" comment is a racist dog whistle. Telling people to "stockpile" food with $4200 a year - a year! - is utterly insulting. This entire shutdown is built on violent cruelty. "You better let us gut the health care support for folks who need it, otherwise we'll take your food."
Rep. Clay Higgins of Louisiana blames SNAP recipients for not stockpiling a month's worth of food.

He ends his tweet with "stop smoking crack."

A trio of thank yous to @metsuniverse.bsky.social for sending me these 3 Dodgers cards! Mets Universe is one of my favorite regulars on the @ngtcollectibles.bsky.social Sunday giveaway. This trio of Dodgers cards were part of Mets Universe’s special World Series giveaway from last Thursday.

Imagine putting up THAT performance in the WORLD SERIES in front of SANDY KOUFAX???!!!!!
Lowell Palmer had a 5 year MLB career that was more or less forgettable. However, he did have this epic looking rookie card from the 1970 sets. Here's the OPC version, with the cool bilingual back.
The 2nd version of the Washington Senators, which lasted from 1961-1971 (before moving to Texas to become the Texas Rangers), was awful. They had an all time .418 winning percentage. However, they did have 2 HOFer manage them, including all time great Ted Williams.
The Blue Jays are 1 win away from winning the World Series!

Remember: The richest 1% evade over $160 billion in taxes every year.

That amount would fund SNAP for a year with money to spare.

Ask yourself who the real freeloaders are.
This is really sad and also, way to go Brad for stepping up like this.
Brad Marchand is stepping away from the Panthers to go behind the bench to support a friend whose daughter died.

He traveled to his hometown of Halifax earlier to support JP MacCallum, whose 10-year-old daughter Selah died after a year-long battle with cancer.
Rookie scoring leaders type cards don't always predict future success, however this one from the 1984-85 OPC set certainly did.
