I like some of the difficulty settings in games that increase opportunities along with risks
Slay the Spire: more elites (more relics)
Decktamer: more mutations (to tame)
Into the Breach: you get more enemies & alphas (enemies hit each other) & also ItB also doubles your healing at max diffy

A17 Watcher now. And it took like one try after coming back from Decktamer. It was unfortunately not a heartbreaker run, tho.

Okay, beat all bosses on highest difficulty!
Woah
Well I beat all Decktamer bosses and did the final one on the hardest diffy. It'll be spoilers to say too much. But it's a very cool game with amazingly flavorful and exciting abilities. The ludonarrative consconance is deliciously palpable.

I'm torn between making a primary action resource max out to 3/3 or 10/10

3 is such a nice small number while 10 gives way more granularity...

Another Snecko Eye start into Heartbreaker

Curious relic in a meta sense. Once you know about it, there's always hope when entering shops with a bit of gold, no matter how low your HP is. Makes you less likely to abandon runs.

I quite enjoy writing for PF2e. The 3-action system, heightening system, and focus point systems give a lot of flexibility and aren't class locked. And the trait system can be used to compress homebrew mechanics.

It's just very comfy to write for, despite the amount of content it already has.

I kinda like the cards that say "End Your Turn" on Watcher.

They can't stack or be recasted, so they can be pretty strong.

Randomly gave it a spin. Good deck, but died to heart. Still, it was really a misplay on the Spear and Shield that did me in.

Oh, Slay the Spire 2 is on Godot, eh

Junking really is a mechanic that's significantly easier in digital games, too much of a bother in analog ones. Despite being a concept that requires having a deck of cards.

There's some interesting asymmetry in Slay the Spire where you can poison enemies, but they never poison you. And enemies can burn you but you can't junk them.

Advantages of each TTRPG setting:
Fantasy: Don't have to worry about tech like computers, guns, and phones.
Sci-fi: Tech like teleporters, shields, and ESP is basically magic.
Modern: I can put pop music in my GMing playlist.
