I post positive developments to counteract the Trump Administration’s zone flooding.

Wilmer Hale stands up for democracy.
Proud to be an alum of Wilmer Hale right now.

If you are in a position to direct business to law firms - or to take business to law firms - please consider which firms are standing up and fighting.

This is an incredible piece and a reminder that progress is uneven, history repeats itself, and that the arc of these United States is bigger than this small moment in time.

This is extremely reassuring.
1/🧵 Judges across ideological lines are ruling against Trump at strikingly similar rates (84% liberal, 86% centrist, 82% conservative). This isn't partisan opposition to Trump—it's the judiciary functioning as intended by cutting across partisan lines to uphold the Constitution.

A major win. Trans members of our armed forces can continue to serve.
INCREDIBLE Ruling!

Judge Reyes just ruled that transgender people have served honorably in the military, judges Trumps trans military ban - which states trans people are inherently dishonorable - as unconstitutional and motivated by animus.

Trans military members may continue to serve.

This ridiculously pandering headline is getting all the attention, but the article is a list of one right wing economist after another calling the Trump Administration incompetent.

Trump has a plan to remake the economy. But he’s not explaining it very well.
President Trump has claimed his economic plan could cause brief pain while the nation advances to a new “Golden Age.” But officials have been less clear about what that destination will look like.

The courts have several tools that are not subject to executive authority: civil contempt (rather than criminal) and deputization of people to serve in lieu of US Marshalls.

Not a news item, but he’s right.
Can’t emphasize this enough: if you’re feeling overwhelmed by the debased assault on our country, the antidote is connecting with other people in the flesh who are feeling the same way. There are millions of us.
