These are the albums I've had on rotation this week. A few first listens. Lots of rediscovered favourites.

I have a new "instant classic" t-shirt design up and a "stone cold classic" t-shirt design up.
These will probably be the last run of shirts I do that are printed in 2025 thank you

I thought it was just obvious that preferring Pulp to Oasis (or vice versa) was basically just 90s Britpop artists refighting the Mods vs Rockers wars of their parents' youths but apparently not everyone is CULTURED

This week's SBG bonus episode is on PENDA'S FEN, a striking BBC teleplay from 1974 wherein an incredibly uptight young man through a series of increasingly anomalous encounters learns to interrogate British identity, personal history, sexuality, religion, and more: www.patreon.com/posts/shelve...

This sounded amazing last night. Tbh, I haven't listened to the 2013 third album in depth but this has made me want to rediscover it. It almost sounded like techno, or as Rab said, Theo Parrish in guitar form

something I respect in any kind of entertainer — performer, artist, etc — is a small but significant disdain for one's audience. @roryblank.bsky.social and I were talking about this the other night — too much #content these days is made with a obvious desperation to be liked, and it's cloying.

Think it's important to note that Unbound is still dicking over their (former) authors. Don't pay them, buy from places that are actually paying the authors!
Quick note to anyone thinking of buying my books: please purchase the new Swift Press versions, NOT the relatively small number of Unbound versions still knocking about, & being sold by OOINYA. Unbound stopped paying me for my work early in 2024 and I will never see a penny for these books.

Good album; this was my favourite song, it has a pretty raw, motorik, guitar/bass/drums setup. Still has some lovely analogue electronics, though, which is what you expect when you put on Juana Molina
